Biography
Dr. Dalton Dietrich is an internationally recognized scientist with over 35 years of experience investigating mechanisms and treatments for CNS injury. He has authored over 300 peer reviewed papers, 60 book chapters and 4 books.
Dr. Dietrich is the Scientific Director of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis since 1997 and the Kinetic Concepts Distinguished Chair in Neurosurgery. He received his Ph.D. in Anatomy from the Medical College of Virginia in 1979 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Washington University, St. Louis, MO, 1981. He has been at UM since 1981 and also currently serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Discovery Science.
He is supported by the NIH and DOD and serves on many study sections for federal funding and several Editorial Boards. He is currently Editor-In-Chief of the Journal Therapeutic Hypothermia & Temperature Management and Deputy Editor of the Journal of Neurotrauma.
