Hilda Pantin, Ph.D. is Professor and Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. 

Dr. Pantin’s research career has been committed to advancing clinical knowledge in the service of enhancing the quality of prevention intervention implementation and research locally and nationally. Dr. Pantin has led the development, evaluation, and dissemination of the efficacy and effectiveness of Familias Unidas, a Hispanic-specific, family-based, parent-centered preventive intervention. Dr. Pantin also served as a co-investigator of a P30 grant, Co-Director of the Training Core of that Implementation Science Center and as an investigator or co-investigator on four R01’s in the area of prevention science.

Dr.Pantin’s successes have resulted in several honors, including the Outstanding Research Publication Award from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in 2003 and most recently in 2010, the Community, Culture and Prevention Science Award from the Society of Prevention Research.

Dr. Pantin has been a member of the Editorial Board of Hispanic Health Care International, the National Institute on Drug Abuse National Advisory Council‘s Prevention Research Review Work Group, the National Hispanic Science Network, the Society for Prevention Research Conference Committee and the Prevention Science & Methodology Group.
