Biography
I am a recognized expert and leader in the fields of molecular and cellular biophysics. Over the course of my career, I have authored 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications (>5,000 citations) and have been invited to speak at 17 national and 12 overseas conferences. I have supervised 15 years of NIH funded research (FIRST Award and 2 RO1s, role: PI) as well as research supported by the NSF, American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society. Amongst my research achievements are first to apply AFM to measure the (i) the unbinding force of individual ligand-receptor complex, (ii) the unbinding force of individual integrin-ligand complex, and (iii) the interaction between leukocyte and endothelial cells.
