The Ophthalmic Biophysics Center (OBC) was created in 1970 by Bascom Palmer's founding director Dr. Edward Norton and Dr. Parel. The lab has a long history of innovative research, which has advanced the management of ophthalmic disease, starting with the inception of vitrectomy.
